CNN's Inaugural Coverage
I watched many hours of CNN's Democracy love-fest today. I was primarily interested in who was sponsoring so many hours of uninterrupted coverage. After many hours of droning on about how great everything is there were finally two commercials. The first was a commercial for Nuclear Energy, which spent $100,000 (that we know of) for the inauguration. Their new slogan is "Nuclear Energy - No Air Pollution". These marketing firms are unbelievable. It's alot like the commercials for many pharmaceuticals that are currently on the market. They just flip the drawback...."wow, it does all that with a low risk of sexual dysfunction?" A low risk? Boy that sure beats a high risk. I'll take a low risk over a high risk any day. "Wow, these chips taste great and they have a low risk of anal leakage? That is so awesome! You know, they could have a medium risk for anal leakage! Pass the dip! Nuclear Energy - No Air Pollution? Lets not even address ground water pollution, soil pollution and melt-down. Chernobyl folks? I guess that wasn't air pollution...it was air contamination.
The next commercial was for Genworth Financial, Insurance and Investing firm. "Tort reform" and privitized social security folks! The insurance and investment people stand to gain tons of money from these proposals. These are the guys at the black tie parties tonight my friends. A quick google check placed Genworth Financial under the umbrella of General Electric, which is of course under the umbrella of Time-Warner, which owns CNN.
