More Lessons In Right-Speak

O.k., so we’ve all heard about the “NEW POLITICAL CORRECTNESS” which is going around in Right-wing circles. You know what I’m talking about the absurd notion that if you call something a friendly sounding term you can get people on board with your political agenda because you believe they are too stupid to figure it out for themselves.

For example:

The Clear Skies Initiative – a bill passed by the Republican Party and signed by Dumbya that will actually allow more pollution.

Healthy Forests: a term used to describe the cutting down of more trees.

Open Town Hall Forum – allegedly used to inform the American public about Social Security. In fact they are staged pep rallies in which the President allows no dissent to creep in and only supporters of his agenda can ask questions or comment.

Responsible Energy Development: We’re going to drill for oil anywhere, including the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and Yellowstone Park. Primarily used when Republicans want to justify destroying the natural environment for profit.

Nuclear Option: A term developed by Republicans to describe how to win the battle with Senate Democrats over Bush’s judicial nominees. This involves changing longstanding Senate rules because the Repubs can’t get what they want.

Constitutional Option: A recent term developed by Republicans to describe how to win the battle with Senate Democrats over Bush’s judicial nominees. This involves changing longstanding Senate rules because the Repubs can’t get what they want. The Repubs decided Nuclear Option sounded bad so they’ve been increasingly using the new PC term constitutional option.

Against People of Faith: Anyone who disagrees with James Dobson, Bill Frist or Tom Delay.

Liberal Media: Anyone who reports on any wrongdoing by a government official, so long as the government official is a Republican.

Strict Constructionist: A judge who will bend law and fact to get an outcome that Conservatives agree with.

Activist Judges: A judge who will NOT bend law and fact to get an outcome that Conservatives agree with. Can also be applied to any Judge who will protect minority rights over Majority whims.

Culture of Life: pandering term designed to appeal to Evangelical Christians and tie W to everything from Terry Schiavo to Pope John Paul II. Especially ironic term because of the Right Wing's support of the death penalty, unilateral military force, opposition to welfare, universal health care, minimum wages, stem-cell research, birth control, environmental regulations, medical malpractice lawsuits, and aids research and prevention.

Comments:
What a load of crap!!!!

Well said, well spoken, Beejee.

You have identified the issue, articulated a well thought out and well crafted response... and addressed the issue with frightening clarity.

O.k.... maybe not. But then again I don't expect more from you right wing idiots.
