Revoke their 501's

Hello gentle reader..... just wanted to remind you out there who support your local church. You see under U.S. law their is a provision that makes your church tax exempt. This allows the church or charity to work without having to pay taxes. This is an outgrowth of the separation of church and state... you see the founding father's believed that the power to tax was the power to destroy. Meaning that the church should be exempt from the corrupting influences of the government.

Of course there was a caveat, because we don't want charlatans pretending to be churches just so that they can avoid paying taxes.

So take a look at the IRS definition of what organizations qualify to be exempt from taxes:

To be tax-exempt as an organization described in IRC Section 501(c)(3) of the Code, an organization must be organized and operated exclusively for one or more of the purposes set forth in IRC Section 501(c)(3) and none of the earnings of the organization may inure to any private shareholder or individual. In addition, it may not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities and it may not participate at all in campaign activity for or against political candidates.
